Snippets in PrimalScript have always been easy to use. For instance, typing the name of a snippet and immediately pressing Ctrl-J, inserts the named snippet at the caret location. You can also drag a snippet from the snippet browser and drop it in the edit window at any location of your choosing.

Creating a snippet was also fairly easy. Select the text you wanted to make into a snippet, right click the mouse, and select “Save as Snippet”. Then simply name the snippet and save it in the proper folder.

PrimalScript 2009 has added a new enhancement to its snippet functionality. Snippet creation can now be done via a drag and drop process. Begin the snippet creation process just as previously, by selecting the text that is to be made into a snippet. Left click in the selected block and drag the selection to the snippet browser. Drop it into the appropriate language node and a “NewSnippet” entry is created. You should immediately rename the snippet at this point with a name that reflects its functionality.
