SAPIEN Update service bulletin

Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 by Alex Riedel
Recently we introduced a new SAPIEN software update tool, which makes it easier to directly download and install SAPIEN software updates. The tool also updates itself when there is a newer version of the update tool. Unfortunately on some machines that may have caused that process to get stuck, because the file may now be owned be an elevated admin and can no longer be overwritten without elevation. So if you have not seen any new updates to our software recently, you may have to launch the update tool manually with elevation. You only have to do this once, do…   More »

You can then manually install the updates as needed. The new update tool also shows a brief synopsis of what…   More »

PowerShell Studio: Form and Script Recovery

Monday, October 20th, 2014 by David Corrales
Once in a while our support team gets a request to recover a script from a packaged executable because the original was lost. In fact this just happened recently when a user contacted us to recover his lost form project from his packaged script. We were able to recover the script, but unfortunately the user still had to rebuild all his GUI forms from scratch. He was at least fortunate enough to be able to copy and paste the script portions of his project without having to completely rewrite it all. Please don’t find yourself in the same situation. Activating Your New Subscription

Tuesday, March 25th, 2014 by June Alane Reif
[UPDATED: 8/15/2014] So, you just got a new subscription to a SAPIEN product. You've run the installer and you've launched the product and you were presented with a screen like this: Where do you go from here?  Well, since you already have a subscription number, you can pretty much ignore the buttons on the top right. Instead, focus on the section below the text "If you have a current subscription number, please enter or paste it into the field below." If you DO NOT already have a SAPIEN account (this is not necessarily the same as your store account!), click…   More »

Uncle SAPIEN Wants You!

Monday, January 28th, 2013 by Robert Morey
To register your license key, that is. Did you purchase a license for our software, perhaps years and years ago, and never register it in your MySAPIEN account? You should, and there are some very valid and important reasons for doing so. If you don’t register your license, we probably do not know how to reach you. On occasion, we make application-specific announcements and offer deals on upgrades that only go to those whose products are registered. Also, when you log into your MySAPIEN account, you can see what the most recent version of the application is as well…   More »

Docking windows and tabbed views

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 by Alex Riedel
All SAPIEN Software has docking panels of some kind or another. Combine a multi-tabbed environment like PrimalScript with docked multi-tabbed panels and it can get a bit overwhelming if you dragged your output windows somewhere by accident and can't get it back to where you think it should be. Let's look at the overall layout of PrimalScript:   As soon as you start dragging a panel group or a panel the docking guides appear as shown above. You can drag an entire group of tabbed panels by grabbing the active panel by its caption as shown above. If you only want…   More »
