When Jeff Hicks and I wrote our Advanced VBScript for Windows Administrators book, we didn’t have a hard time coming up with good topics. After all, VBScript had been around long enough that it was pretty obvious what sort of advanced topics people were looking for.
That’s not the case with Windows PowerShell, though, and I’m eager to start working on an “advanced” title that picks up where Windows PowerShell: TFM leaves off. So, I’m looking for your feedback: In a comment on this post, why don’t you let me know what Windows PowerShell topics you consider “advanced?” Working with databases? Building Windows forms? Making your own cmdlets in VB.NET or C#? Fire away: Your comment could become a chapter in the next PowerShell book!
Don
Advanced topics: cmdlets, snapins, providers. I lean towards C#, just because the name sounds cooler to me, nothing more. I’ve not much experience with either though.
Being provided with something that works with PSH, but wanting to find out more (get-member, get-itemproperty, etc.).
Along with Advanced, there might also be a cookbook-type edition TFM…
As I learn more about PSH, I’m sure I’ll be back!
