UPDATED: VBScript, WMI, and ADSI Unleashed on Safari

My newest book, VBScript, WMI, and ADSI Unleashed: Using VBScript, WMI, and ADSI to Automate Windows Administration has just been released as an eBook on Safari.com, and will be on bookshelves soon. Amazon may have it up for pre-order soon, even.

This is essentially a revised second edition to my original Managing Windows with VBScript and WMI. Several new chapters on HTAs, debugging, and other topics have been added, along with a general refreshing of the content.

Remember, VBScript was used by Microsoft to build administrative tools for Win2003 and Windows Server “Longhorn” (including one of the main utilities for “Server Core”), so my love for PowerShell notwithstanding, VBScript is far from “dead” if Microsoft is building production, supported tools with it! This book is intended as a starting point for someone wanting to learn how to use VBScript, and with the new content is also a good choice for intermediate scripters who want to take things a bit further.

The new book is published by Sams. It’s 576 pages and is “in stock” on Safari effective this morning. Yay!

UPDATE: Yup, Amazon has it at http://www.amazon.com/VBScript-WMI-ADSI-Unleashed-Administration/dp/0321501713/ref=sr_1_2/002-3905127-4344826?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1178737718&sr=8-2 for pre-order.
