I was reading the latest issue of Windows IT Pro magazine and the cover story is on IT Pro Innovators. These are admins like you who have come up with elegant solutions for critical business needs. What struck me the most as I read the article was how often VBScript was a key part of their solutions. In one case the administrator had a 2300+line VBScript. Now that’s a script!
Now, even though I imagine some of their solutions could be re-written to leverage PowerShell, VBScript is still a valuable tool and I expect it to remain so for the foreseeable future. Even though PowerShell is the latest and greatest, VBScript should still have a spot in your automation toolbox.
