WSH and VBScript Core: TFM available – in print and ebook editions!

Jeffery Hicks’ WSH and VBScript Core: TFM is now available in both print and electronic editions, marking SAPIEN Press’ first eBook products.

Currently, the title is available from www.ScriptingOutpost.com under the “Books” category. Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and other retailers will begin picking up the book as they refresh their catalog from the distributor.  Note that the eBook version is available only from ScriptingOutpost.com.

We’ve created some SAPIEN Knowledge Base articles in the event that you purchase the eBook and misplace the instructions for actually obtaining the PDF:

How do I download my SAPIEN Press eBook?
Why don’t SAPIEN Press books include a PDF copy of the book on the accompanying CD?

eBooks are delivered in an non-DRM PDF format. Because the eBook includes the purchaser’s personal information, you have the option to password-protect the eBook when purchasing it. This is your option. The PDF will not allow changes or printing (if you want a printed edition, you will need to purchase the printed version of the book).

The eBook does not come free with the printed book (as indicated in the KB link above). We are aware that some publishers do this, but we don’t include a CD with our books, so we have no way of doing so. Just as purchasing a movie on DVD and Blu-Ray are separate purchases, so it is with our print and electronic editions (although the electronic edition is offered at a lower price). ScriptingOutpost.com does offer a Print+Electronic bundle, where you get both editions for a discounted price.

We know that many of you have been asking for electronic editions of our books, and this title is our first experiment in doing so. We’ll be keeping a close eye on things, including your feedback (post it in the Book Support forum on ScriptingAnswers.com), and will determine future e-title availability in a couple of months.

Also note that the complete text of WSH and VBScript Core: TFM is included as integrated context-sensitive help within all PrimalScript 2007 editions, and we are working to make the book available to Books24x7.com subscribers.
