SAPIEN’s Jeffery Hicks – my co-author for Windows PowerShell: TFM, Advanced VBScript for Windows Administrators, and author of WSH and VBScript Core: TFM – was just awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award! That makes two of us in SAPIEN who’ve earned the MVP designation, and I’m delighted to welcome Jeff to the club. He’s also the third Hicks to win the award (although I’m sure the other two are distant relations at best), and the 31st Jeff, Jeffery, or Jeffrey to earn this honor.
Microsoft hasn’t updated the online MVP directory at this moment, but I’m guessing Jeff’s MVP specialization is Windows Server – Admin Frameworks, which encompasses both the MMC and Windows PowerShell; it’s possible he’s listed under Visual Developer – Scripting, although I doubt it. That’s a weird specialization and the guys in it are a bit confused as to why they’re listed as “developers.” 🙂
Congrats, Jeff! Now, back to work on that advanced PowerShell book. No rest for the honored.
I always thought it was just a matter of time for Jeffery…
And that oddball ‘Visual Developer – Scripting’ bucket never really made sense to anyone and has now been deprecated and folded into the ‘Windows Server – Admin Frameworks’ category (at least yours truly was :-)…
Congrats and great job Jeffrey!
