Per popular request, attached is a ZIP file containing the original VB.NET files I used to build my sample cmdlet (only the cmdlet and snap-in files are included; you’ll ned to build your own project in PrimalScript or Visual Studio). But wait… there’s more. This is actually part of a larger PrimalToys snap-in I’ve made, which will be available on http://www.primalscript.com/freetools (note that you will need a free SAPIENPASS account in order to access the downloads – we’ve had to do this to help keep our bandwidth consumption reserved for actual human beings, not ‘warez bots’). This snap-in contains roughly 30 cmdlets, including fun ones like Write-Speech and useful ones like Read-MsgBox and Read-InputBox, which duplicate VBScript functionality that PowerShell doesn’t have natively.
And stay tuned, because I’ve got some COOL ideas for new cmdlets that I’m going to work on.
And, you should know that the forums on ScriptingAnswers.com includes a PowerShell forum, along with sub-forums for cmdlet “wish lists,” cmdlet development, and more. Check it out, and I hope you’ll post there with any cmdlet development questions you may have.
