We’re pleased to announce the official list of “which new features will be in which editions” for PrimalScript 4.1. As you may know, we’ve been announcing new features in this blog and on the PrimalScript 4.1 Preview Center, although to date we have not announced which ones will be included in specific editions of the product. Please note that if you’re after a particular feature, but currently own a lesser edition of PrimalScript 4.0, then you may want to consider upgrading editions before 4.1 comes out (we’ve blogged about that before). So here’s the official lineup:
Output Pane
Live Syntax Checking for VBScript and JScript
Community Resources Browser
New Look (high-color icons, etc)
PrimalSense for variable names and keywords
New scanner tool to populate the Tools Nexus with tools already installed on your system
Full PrimalScript 4: TFM ebook integrated as product help
Professional and Enterprise Editions also include
Windows PowerShell support (color-coding, PrimalSense, etc)
Integrated PowerShell help
File History
CVS/Subversion source control support
Enterprise Edition also includes
Tasklist browser for manually- and automatically-created “to do” items
Remember that all PrimalScript 4.0 users will be able to exchange their 4.0 license key(s) for a 4.1 license key of the same edition – at no charge for the first 90 days 4.1 is available. We’ll be announcing a release date soon, so watch this blog for further details.
