ImportModuleHelp.exe

Post by vpaladino »

Product, version and build: Powershell Studio 5.8.206
Operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise
PowerShell version(s): 7.2.3
32-bit version of software? No

Can someone tell me what the importmodulehelp.exe does? Our endpoint protection didn't like it and it didn't install. There was an error later in the process, but it let us continue. Is not having it going to prevent something from working?

ImportModuleHelp does, as you may have suspected, import help from modules. PowerShell modules to be exact.
So yeah, it will create problems, the files does exist for a reason.
Can you tell us maybe what your endpoint software didn't like? Was it the name, or was it not pretty enough ? :D

It has very high standards ;)

But seriously, if we install it again I'll try and capture what the problem is.
