"Confirm" switch parameter is not generated in Help xml files

Post by gokulks »

To help you better we need some information from you.

*** Please fill in the fields below. If you leave fields empty or specify 'latest' rather than the actual version your answer will be delayed as we will be forced to ask you for this information. ***

Product, version and build: 2.1.36
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64-bit
Operating system:
32 or 64 bit OS: 64-bit Windows 10

*** Please add details and screenshots as needed below. ***
Any cmdlet which supports confirm switch functionality, the -Confirm parameter is added by PowerShell directly at run-time but the HelpWriter is not generating the parameter from the source code. Even if we deliberately add the -Confirm parameter and later generate the help from module then the parameter will vanish as actual code does not contain the parameter but its dynamically generated.

Can you product team look into it and give a fix as soon as possible as our release is impacted because of this issue.

Thanks,
Gokul

Confirm and WhatIf parameters were filtered out with the other common parameters. This issue will be resolved in a first service build after the initial 2018 release next week.

Unfortunately, we can't provide any time tables, but we usually push out new releases in a monthly cycle. I will see what I can do to get an early release for HelpWriter, but I can make no promises.

We just released a PowerShell HelpWriter service build (v2.2.38), that includes the Confirm and WhatIf parameters.
