Studio freezes at random times Cont.

Post by B Daring »

This is in reply to a topic that has been closed. Not sure why I wasn't getting notified

viewtopic.php?t=15828

I can still make it freeze so curious as to why you guys can't. In fact, just today I searched on a project that was not very big and found what I wanted, saved script and then closed script, but left studio open. An hour later went back into Studio just to find out that it has froze and only thing I see is the find results. No script loaded. I have been careful when I search to click away from the find results, like click on output tab, and it usually doesn't freeze on me.

To answer Brittneyr in the last post, I just search for a word taking all defaults, so "Current Document" as I don't have anything else loaded. The results are returned pretty fast, find what I am looking for and move on. Leaving the find results just as they are. It freezes within 10-20min usually.

Let me repeat, when it freezes, I can't click on ANYTHING, I have to force close it.

What build of PowerShell Studio do you have installed?

Is the project saved locally to your machine or on a network?

Hello Brittneyr,

Been awhile, I'm just bumping this up and seeing if there is any news on the freezing?

So far, I have not been able to reproduce this behavior in any of my tests.

Do you have 'Enable remote file status check' enabled in options:
SPS_OptionsEnableRemoteFileCheck.png
SPS_OptionsEnableRemoteFileCheck.png (115.65 KiB) Viewed 10349 times
If so, please disable it and let me know if this behavior still persists for you.

Good Morning,

I do have that checked. I have unchecked it took a couple hours but, yes, it did freeze with 'Enable remote file status check' unchecked.

If the product is producing an internal error, it should create a log.

The product error log can be found here:
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\SAPIEN\PowerShell Studio\ErrorLog.txt

If this file exists, can you please upload it here:
https://www.sapien.com/support/upload

Do you have any errors being written to the Event Viewer?
If so, can you please copy and paste the errors from the Event Viewer here.

Sure thing,

There wasn't an errorlog.txt but I do have the crash info, which I believe is when I ended task to kill it as when it freezes I can't even get to the desktop.
