Deleted or moved files keep re-appearing

Post by Woody_033 »

Product: VersionRecall (64 Bit) Build: v1.7.165
OS: Windows 10 Pro (64 Bit) Build: v10.0.19044
Product: PowerShell Studio 2022 (64 Bit) Build: v5.8.210

Any I delete or move a file, they keep showing up again
Type or location does not seem to mater, you delete, and they come back
I looked for "Dont' Restore File" or "Restore Deleted Files" option, but I am not seeing it...
Please advise

Please indicate where you delete a file. In your source folder, within a repository, please be specific.
Please also describe when the file file re-appears. I am assuming you are kicking off some activity, but it is not clear which.

Not sure what the trigger is
Sometimes it happens when I open and or close a file within my project
Other time, I log in the am and I have a notice that files have been added to my project

The first two where deleted via explorer
The Last two where deleted from within the project
Moving files from the main folder to a sub folder also does this where the file from the main folder also re-appears

How they are added also does not seem to make a difference. Creating or drag and drop file both re-appear
The type of file also does not make a difference.

Now I cannot run the project unless I go and delete some files and folders from the project
  1. \Documents\PS Projects\NTFS Files & Folders\NTFS Files & Folders.Run.ps1' is denied.

You have Project Synchronization enabled:

This synchronizes project files and folders when the project is loaded. If you do not want this behavior, set this property to false.

Hello Brittneyr,
Yes, I had that setting turned on before installing Version Recall and was not an issue

The files re-appearing after being moved or deleted only started after I installed Version Recall.
Are you saying that these two option are conflicting and I should not have them turn on?

I only posted that as an example as to the file being brought back to life. This not only happens when I start back up a project, but has happened during my working in my project.

The behaviour that I don't want is files coming back to life after I move or delete them

Did you find anything in the config file that might help with this?

We have received your file.
Under your VersionRecall repository properties, please try disabling Synchronize newer files.
