Slowness populating Query Builder information

Post by r1upfront »

PrimalSQL2017
Version 4.3.58

64 Bit

It takes an extremely long time to populate the Query Builder information. Anywhere from 2 to 3 minutes once being dragged and dropping into the Query Builder area.

If you are using the Visual Query builder, the load time will depend on your settings, connection speed, and how large your database is. When you first load a database, it will attempt to build the schema and display it in the builder.

You can improve performance by making sure the Options->Panels->"Cache all fields" option is unchecked:
PrimalSQL - Cache all Fields.png
PrimalSQL - Cache all Fields.png (13.3 KiB) Viewed 16623 times
Alternatively, if you use the SQL only editor, it should display the file much faster since it doesn't have to build the information.
