Missing Modules and Snapins in Object Browser

Product, version and build: Powershell Studio 2016, Version 5.2.119 (and even tested earlier)
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64-bit
Operating system: Windows 10
32 or 64 bit OS: x64
PowerShell Version: 5

My Object Browser is nearly empty even tho I try to refresh it numerous times! I have eaven tried launching Powershell Studio with Elevated permissions without success.

I have tried to manually run the CacheBuilder.exe, CacheBuilder64.exe and so on manually without any sucess.

I have allot of powershell modules installed in my computer (For Example, I got Active Directory Powershell Module from RSAT installed)

I supply a image on how my Object Browser window looks like.

I have even tried to uninstall the software and then reinstall it with no luck.

(I got some Core Cmdlets and About Topics... But thats it...)

Hello Christian,

Usually when this happens it means a module is causing the caching process to fail.

1. Please check the Windows Event logs for any application error reports for CacheManager or CacheBuilder executables.

2. Zip and attach the contents of the following folder:

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\SAPIEN\CachedData 2016\Local Machine

The cache contents might give us a better idea as to what might be causing the problem. Make sure the cache builder is not running when zipping the files.

3. Try temporarily removing modules and see if that makes any difference when rebuilding the cache.

Hi!

1, I cannot find any unusual in my eventlog...

2, I have attached the zip'ed directory that you wanted... I have also tried to uninstall and reinstalled again without any luck...

3, I have tried to remove a couple of modules and refresh the cache without any luck... It has previously worked... I think it got broken either when I upgraded to 2016 or more less when I upgraded Windows 10 to Feb release....

Interesting. The V5 logs do not list any modules which means PowerShell didn't return any modules when queried, yet V2 logs show modules.

Please run the following lines in PowerShell Studio (V5 platform) and post the results:

Can you try running the CacheBuilder64.exe directly and once completed attach the updated CacheBuilder.inf file.
