Windows upgrade from Windows 2008 Server to Windows Server 2012

Post by marco_flores »

Hi Everyone,

Good day! My Company is currently in the process of consolidating our Data Center and our team is looking for Powershell Scripts that can help us migrate the roles from Windows 2008 Server to Windows Server 2012. From FSMO roles down to AD,DHCP,DNS,FileServer etc. I hope you can help us provide useful scripts for this since our IT Management wants us to focus in using PS scripts. Also if there is a script that you can share for upgrading the Windows OS for Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2K12 R2. Thank you so much in advance

Sorry but this forum is mostly for techs writing scripts. we can answer questions about how to write a script or how to solve a problem. The forum is not really for distribution of scripts.

I recommend looking into the Microsoft Migration Toolkit as it has many resources and documents describing migration scenarios and tools used to migrate.

no problem. It is just that we cannot be of much help with such a broad question. Look for forums that specialize in migration.

There is no one set of scripts that will automate all migrations. It is something that takes a trained specialist to design and implement. In most cases ther eis no need to migrate an upgrade. We generally only migrate when we need to merge domain, companies or forests.
