I am having an issue with the Shell extensions for VersionRecall and ChangeVue.
When these applications are installed on Windows 8.1/10, when right clicking on files on a UNC path Explorer crashes.
VR version 1.0.118_072415
Vue version 2.2.85_060615
64bit

Re: Context Menu Crash
There is no plugin for ChangeVue.
Is this in a folder under VersionRecall control or just any folder that is UNC?

Re: Context Menu Crash
It is within any folder accessed through UNC. Interestingly enough there is no impact with the UNC is mapped and accessed through a drive letter.

Re: Context Menu Crash
I have tried on 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 but I cannot replicate.
Can you give me the actual path for reference and can you check your system logs if you have any more crash information?
Thanks.

Re: Context Menu Crash
The path is \\cl-file\gpo as an example.
The program explorer.exe version 10.0.10240.16405 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

I also tried to use the IP instead of the server name and saw no difference. I was able to right click on a UNC path on a Windows 8.1 machine. I also tried to a server 2012 R2 box and was able to right click.
The environment having the issue is Windows 10 x64 browsing to UNC paths on a clustered 2012 R2 file server.
Please see the attached error report.

Re: Context Menu Crash
Your original post stated 8.1 as well as 10. Please verify that you only see his effect on Windows 10.
There was no error report attached.

Re: Context Menu Crash
I ended up rebuilding in Windows 10 before I realized that this was what was causing my issue. VersionRecall is only installed on my computer. I just wanted to be clear that the same issue happened to my while on Windows 8.1.
