binary file?
after updating to 6.5.142, everytime when I open a vbs file, it says "this file appears to be a binary file. would you like to open it in the binary editor instead?", this is very annoying. any suggestion? thanks.

Re: binary file?
PrimalScript displays that message if a file contains null characters. You say this happened after the latest update but you don't mention from what you updated. Since this specific check has been in for years I was wondering from what version you upgraded?
Say no to the message and save the file. Close it and open it again.
Does the message still appear?
Please indicate what encoding you use (status bar) and what other editor you might use to edit these files.

Re: binary file?
Alex,
to answer your questions:
1. I try to keep my version always update, so in this case, it is from 6.5.141
2. say no to the message, save and open: this doesn't seem to resolve the issue, but after a few edits and save, the dialog was gone. so you might be right that some kind of null chars staying somewhere but was removed.
3. other editors used are textpad, notepad
4. encoding mode shows ASCII
Thanks
