Hi folks -
How about adding more column editing functionality ... take a look at
UltraEdit32 and UEStudio '06 for examples of what I'd like to see.
Thanks,

Enhanced column editing support
Can you give us an idea of what sorts of projects (languages) you work on where this would be useful? It's helpful for us to give usage scenarios to the development team; we'd rather not simply duplicate functionality from another product - we try to understand how those features are actually being used by real people.

Enhanced column editing support
Fair enough ... <grin> ...
I'm doing lot of work in WiX ... [about 80% of my workload], with the rest a roughly equal mix of C/C++, VBscript [of the admin variety, not ASP stuff], and PowerShell / CMD Shell scripts.
Where I find the column editing functions most useful is in preparing data files for use with my admin scripts. Cleaning up output from systems / sources over which I have little or no control ... turning that in to input for my scripts.
I have no experience with Perl [probably a shortcoming on my part, but there are only so many hours in a day], so being able to clean up data this way is a real time saver.
Thanks for asking,
-dmm
