VersionRecall & PowerShell Studio integration - file locks

Post by cdouglas_nch »

Product, version and build: VersionRecall 2018 1.5.142
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64bit
Operating system: Windows 10 1703
32 or 64 bit OS: 64bit

We're considering purchasing VersionRecall to work alongside PowerShell Studio, however in our limited testing found it missing some basic behavior/functionality.

If PowerShell Studio is used to open a project or file that's part of the VersionRecall repository, it doesn't appear to automatically place a lock on the project and/or file being edited. Since you can do this from within the VersionRecall application, we were expecting that with the integration between the two products, PowerShell Studio would automatically lock files, and then automatically submit the changed files and unlock them once they were closed from within PowerShell Studio.

Do we have something miss-configured, or is this simply not functionality that's built into VersionRecall and PowerShell Studio? If the latter, is this something that is on the road-map to introduce into the products?

We understand your need for this feature. The lock feature isn't currently accessible directly PowerShell Studio and we are working on a solution to better integrate with multiple source control solutions including VersionRecall.
