Primalscript Context Menus

Post by dwcline »

I installed a trial of Primalscript some time ago. After uninstalling the trial, the context menus still appear as "Open with PrimalScript" for associated file types - even though the application is no longer installed.

Do you have a utility to clean off all of the associations that your software left on my PC - without me having to scan through the multiple file types in the registry and delete them by hand?

Frankly, I like your product - but the remnants left on my workstation after I uninstalled the product concerns me. When you state "uninstall", you should really mean it.

The uninstaller does usually remove that. What exactly is "some time ago" ?
If you check your registry, there should be one entry as
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTSystemFileAssociationstextOpenWithListPrimalScript
and one as
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTSystemFileAssociationstextshellEdit with PrimalScript

Again, the uninstall should remove those, but in case it didn't, this is easy enough to delete.

Yes, those two entries were already removed. The registry entries I am referring to are

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTaspxfileshellEdit with PrimalScriptcommand
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTbatfileshellEdit with PrimalScriptcommand
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTcgifileshellEdit with PrimalScriptcommand

and so on, and so on...

I am assuming that was some old version then. I'll check on Monday if someone has a script to remove old settings.
