Powershell Studio install failure

Post by Scott H Phelps »

Product, version and build:Powershell Studio 2016, v5.2.128
32 or 64 bit version of product:32 bit
Operating system:Windows Server 2008 R2
32 or 64 bit OS:64 bit

I am trying to install Powershell Studio 45 day trial for evaluation on a server. Due to corporate firewall and security policies, I had to download the install file to my personal workstation. When attempting install, running as admin, on the target server, I get the error shown in the attachment. Please advise.

Your computer has trust issues :D
Jokes aside, right click on the installer, select properties. Look at the signatures, counter signatures, time stamps and their counter signatures.
One of the root certificate providers or counter signature issuing providers is not trusted.

I very much doubt that we will be able to trust the root certificates. Any other suggestions?

And yes, my organization has trust issues, big time!

Well, if you are not patching your OSes with security updates ... (That is what contains those trust settings)
But find out exactly what is not trusted. If it is the time stamp counter signature, the next service build (any day now) will use a different time stamp server.
That might help.
