Sapien tools think my physical machine is a virtual machine

Post by GU-Brett »

I just started PowerShell Studio 2018, and it tells me that I am "attempting to launch a trial version on a virtual machine." I have been using PSS on this computer for many years, and this has never been an issue before. Problem also occurs with PrimalScript 2018.

I have reset my activations, but that did not resolve the issues.

This message only applied to trials. If you active the software and it will function normally.

Out of curiosity, what OS / hardware are you using? Is this a Microsoft Surface?

Windows 10. Lenovo P300.

Activating the software worked, but I am still puzzled as to why it thought I was using a virtual machine. I did have VMware Workstation running, but that has never been an issue before.

False positives have occurred before, particularly on certain Microsoft Surfaces. I will let the dev team know, but the false detection has no effect on the software.
