Adding comments to versions in Version Recall

Is is possible to add a comment to versions as they are submitted? This would be really useful when trying to find a previous version that you want to restore.
I note that the screen displaying the stored versions has data (like size, date modified etc) presumably taken from the file properties. If I add a comment to (for example) a WORD doc file properties tag, could this be displayed in the version screen?

thanks for your help

    2. Specify if you are running a 32 or 64 bit version
    3. Specify your operating system and if it is 32 or 64 bit.
    4. Attach a screenshot if your issue can be seen on the screen

Word uses a method for comments that is not applicable to any other file type. We will add a feature request for comments to the list. Our initial evaluation was that user mostly do not enter comments during a check-in.
So everyone, please chime in.
