Problem with "monitoring" application with simple gui

Hi Guys!

I have done a script that is monitoring a directory. And if something ends up there it will be pushed to the user.

I just want a simple window that says "Alerts" and is available to quit. Simple demands.

The problem is that when the "polling" beginns the window become unavailable.

Tried too use start-job and breaking out the "polling" service... nothing works. The "polling" is the part that creates the pop-up message.

Any ideas?
