Product: PowerShell Studio 2021 (64 Bit)
Build: v5.8.187
OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (64 Bit)
Build: v10.0.19042.0
I'm having trouble after upgrading to PSS2021. Now I am unable to add new PS files to my existing projects. Did something change in the way we are able to add files to projects, or is this a bug in the new version?
See the attached file. I am attempting to add a new file to the folder in my project, where output returns "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." whenever "add new file" is selected.
Any help is highly appreciated,
Best regards,
Mr. Moseng

Re: Unable to add new files to existing projects after upgrading to PowerShell Studio 2021
Please answer the following questions:
- Does this also happen in new projects? Or just existing projects?
- What type of project is this?
- Do you see the Add File dialog appear after clicking 'New File'?

Re: Unable to add new files to existing projects after upgrading to PowerShell Studio 2021
The problem persists through both old and new projects
This is a collection project containing several folders, files, and git repositories.
After clicking New File, no dialog appears.. I only receive the rather strange error as previously stated.
I can however add files through the top left "File - New" menu, as shown in the attachment

Re: Unable to add new files to existing projects after upgrading to PowerShell Studio 2021
So far I have not been able to reproduce this behavior.
Are these projects local to your machine?
Are you able to add files from the File Browser panel?
Can you please run the following tool then copy and paste the output:
https://sapien.s3.amazonaws.com/downloa ... nCheck.exe

Re: Unable to add new files to existing projects after upgrading to PowerShell Studio 2021
These projects are located on an SMB share, so there are no funky network issues between the machine and the share. I have already checked that this is an issue specific to PSS2021.
I can add existing files, or add folders, without issues. It is only the New File that returns "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Re: Unable to add new files to existing projects after upgrading to PowerShell Studio 2021
I have not been able to reproduce this behavior.
Some changes have been made to the Add File dialog for the next service release. My guess is that this is what is causing this issue. When I have more information, I'll post here.
