Unable to set parameter as mandatory and other properties at the same time

Post by pdearmen »

Product, version and build: 5.3.131
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64 bit
Operating system: Windows 10
32 or 64 bit OS: 64
PowerShell Version: 5.1

This is a non critical bug, but still annoying. The issue is when editing a parameter in a parameter block with either edit parameters or edit function, if I attempt to set a parameter to Mandatory using the checkbox on the Function Builder/Parameter Builder form AND attempt to set a validation rule - the variable is not set to mandatory. Only if change the value of Mandatory under Settings in the Parameter window will the variable be marked as mandatory. I can click on the checkbox next for mandatory in the parent form (Function Builder/Parameter Builder) after setting validation rules but the parameter still will not be marked as mandatory.

Steps to replicate:
1.Create a new blank file
2. Create a function with three parameters, set no settings on any of the parameters
3. Select edit function
4. Click on Edit next to one of the parameters
5. Set any setting here other than mandatory
6. Click OK
7. Click on the checkbox under the mandatory column for that variable
8. Click OK
9. Variable should show with those settings you set under edit but not mandatory.

I have attached screenshots of me performing this action below. The one screenshot I couldn't attach (limit of three) shows the function before I performed any actions on it - and the variable test3 has only the data type [string] above it.

Again not an earth shattering bug - just an annoyance.

Thanks for your hard work!

I've managed to reproduce this on my end and have filed an internal bug report.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. When I have some news to share, I'll be sure to post it here.

Hey there pdearman,

Just a quick update that we've since found the cause of this bug and have fixed it on our end.

When the next build of PowerShell Studio is available, can you please verify that issue no longer persists on your machine?
