Hi guys,

i have problem when installting Powershell Studio 2016.


First I get this warning:
Warning 4154. SAPIEN Updates prerequisite was not correctly installed. Continue installation of PowerShell Studio 2016?

Than I get the following message and the installation rollback:
I have attempted to install SPS16Setup_5.2.129_101116_x64.exe, but keep getting the error "A file that is requested cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\Users\...\install\disk1.cab has an invalid digital signature.
Than the installation rolls back.


As I can see in the logfile, the error appears on the following steps:

This can happen when one of the root certificate providers or counter signature issuing providers is not trusted by the machine. Please very that your OS and root certificates are up to date.

Did you have another build previously installed?

thanks for your reply. I had PS 2015 installed, but when installing PS2016 it have been removed.

I have added Symantec in the trusted root store. But the installation failed further.

Please run the installer using the following arguments:

SPS16Setup_5.2.129_101116.exe /qn /L*v .\SPS_Install.log

Then zip and attach the log to this topic or upload it here so that we can investigate further:

The log is still showing a trust issue with the certificate.

1. Right click on the installer->Properties->Digital Signatures.
3. Select the certificate and press the Details button.
4. Press the View Certificate button in the General Tab of the Digital Signatures window.
5. To see if the certificate is trusted, go to the Certificate Path tab:
Alternatively, you can temporarily disable the signature check in:

Control Panel->Internet Options->Advanced tab->check "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid" option.
For security reasons, you will want to disable the option after installing the software.

thanks for your reply.

Firstly the certificate is shown as trusted.

Secondly I disabled the option in the IE, but the installation still fail.

It could be that is having an issue with a prerequisite installer's signature. Please run the installer and when you get the signature error, go to the cab file's location and the check the signature of the files.

Do you have another machine you can test the installer with?

can I install the prerequisite software manuelly ?

I've tried to install it to antoher fresh installed Machine. But the same error appears.

Unfortunately, we don't provide downloads for the individual prerequisites.

The best way of locating the problem file is to check the signature of each individual file that is created during the installation. Check the folder of cab file when the installer reports the error.
