Non-PS Template Questions

Product: PowerShell Studio 2020 (64 Bit)

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (64 Bit)

I'm trying to figure out how to create templates of filetypes that are non-powershell. I see there are some default existing templates for i.e. C# and textfile, but when I try to create a template from a file I got (i.e. .md, .yml, .json etc.) they do not show up in the list as I would expect.

When creating the file templates, they are located in "AppData\Roaming\SAPIEN\PowerShell Studio\Templates\File Templates\Other" and looks like they are saved as "template.filetype.pstemplate" and are marked as PSTEMPLATE FILE.

Why are these template files not showing up anywhere?

I couldn't find much help in your blogs on this, or find any related posts, so I hope you can give me a poke regarding how to get these other template files created

When you have your file open in PowerShell Studio, open the file menu and select 'Create Template':

A dialog should then appear and require you to fill out information regarding your template.
To then find your template, you need to open the 'New File' dialog. You can do this from by a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + N) or from the Quick Access toolbar:

From there you can navigate to Other, your templates should be listed:

I'm aware that you stated that you are on an earlier version of PowerShell Studio, but this process has not changed.

This is the process I've followed. Tried it again, but the templates do not show up in the list after creation... From what I can tell, they are in the correct folder etc.

What can I do to check the import of templates is done correctly?

If the process was successful, your templates should appear in the dialog pictured. Please verify by doing the following for your file templates:
- Open the 'New File' as described above (Ctrl + N).
- From the navigation, select 'Files'.
- Change the filter to only show user template.

Aaaah, that little drop-down totally passed me by They're all present in the "User" space, as one would expect.
