Help! MainForm lost - 0 bytes

Post by disasm »

Product, version and build: Powershell Studio 2020
Operating system: Windows 10 Home
PowerShell version(s): 5

Halfway through debugging I received a memory error followed by PS crashing. Now, my Mainform is empty and I get:

MainForm.psf: Root element is missing.
MainForm.psf: Unable to determine object class.

I'm very worried that I may have lost my file. My only backup of it is quite old. I do have a build (exe) that's more recent. Can I send the exe to Support and hope to get the code back? Ideally, I'd love to be able to restore it, but I assume that's out of the window? Any idea for why this may have happened? Any help is much appreciated... Waiting on pins and needles.

I've uploaded my exe to the Upload page. Hopefully that will help move things along..

Please accept our apologies for this mishap. Unfortunately applications can crash. Sometimes it is a bug, sometimes its a memory fluke, sometimes its, well, just about anything.
The only proven way to keep your code safe at all times is to use a version controls system. Preferably one that acts automatically. Because we tend to forget these kind of things.
I will look at your uploaded file right now.

Email bounced. You want it sent someplace else or renamed and try again?

Tried to PM you but that got stuck in Outbox. Odd. Also apparently I need 5 posts minimum before I can send an Email address. Can you PM me?
Thanks!

It's not 'stuck' in the outbox. Its how private messages work with this forum software. The private message sits in your outbox until I open it.

Did you receive the source code on one of your other email accounts?
