error 0x8000ffff

Post by cmcnaught@hornsby.nsw.gov.au »

Whenever I try to highlight text in a vbscript in Primalscript 4.1 I get the following error

Error : 0x8000ffff (IActiveScript::SetScriptSite())

I am unable to edit my scripts anymore because whenever I click in the window I get this error. Any help would be appreciated

Ok, the error code translates to "Catastrophic failure", that is a Microsoft term, not from us.

I am assuming something happened to your system that broke the vbscript language engine, or something related.

As a first step, go Tools - Options - Text Editor - PrimalSense and uncheck "Enable live syntax check"
Now restart PrimalScript and see if that helps.
Please also check if you can still debug VBScripts or if you get a similar message. If so, please detail what OS you are running and if you made any recent changes or installations to your computer.

I downloaded Windows Script 5.6 and ran it and restarted and since then it is now working. The problem only started occuring since I first installed PrimalScript4.1 and even though I downloaded the latest updates the problem kept occuring. Problem solved now though. Thanks for your help and your quick reply.
