PrimalScript 2015 just purchased - can not enable step into

Post by stevensee@gao.gov »

Back in an earlier version I last used (7) I could step through my code. I am trying to debug a change in a wsf script and the options within the debug windows above the code are greyed out. Using windows 7 64 bit software. I can not find the build number. Just found it version 7.1.62. It was 2015 64 bit software downloaded today and the executable is 4.58 MB in size and its sha 1 with a timestamp of April 17th of this year.

This is an automated post. A real person will respond soon.

Thank you for posting, stevensee@gao.gov.

Did you remember to include the following?
  • 1. Product, version and build (e.g. Product: PrimalScript 2014, Version & Build: 7.0.46. Version and build information can be found in the product's About box accessed by clicking the blue icon with the 'i' in the upper right hand corner of the ribbon.)
    2. Specify if you are running a 32 or 64 bit version
    3. Specify your operating system and if it is 32 or 64 bit.
    4. Attach a screenshot if your issue can be seen on the screen
    5. Attach a zip file if you have multiple files (crash reports, log entries, etc.) related to your issue.
If not, please take a moment to edit your original post or reply to this one.

I don't think WSF files are supported by the newer Microsoft script debugging components anymore.
I will have to investigate that.

Thank you for looking into it. Is there another scripting language that can be run via a command prompt that would permit that debugging functionality?

VBScript, JScript and Powershell work fine. It is just the compound WSF files that are not supported in that fashion.
It is usually not that big an effort to convert your WSF file to a simple VBScript file.
