How to change template used when you choose New File

Post by robwm1 »

Product, version and build: PrimalScript 2016 7.2.94
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64 bit
Operating system: Windows 10 Enterprise (v1607)
32 or 64 bit OS: 64 bit

Hi,

I used the New File button above the ribbon and it prompted me to choose a default template to use. I would like to change the default I selected to Blank when I open New Files. How do I accomplish this? I couldn't find it in Settings.

Thanks,
Rob

If you want the default template to be a blank file that you have to assign an extension to manually, go to C:\ProgramData\SAPIEN\PrimalScript 2016\Templates and delete the "Default" file.

When you go to create a new file it will prompt you if you want to set a default file type the dialog will appear to press no.

At the moment, it seems there is a bug with the "Do not show this again" option so I've filed an internal bug report to get that fixed in an upcoming release.

I noticed the same thing. They need to change that checkbox to Always show again and then the bug is fixed (sort of). :)

Thanks for your help!

Just a quick follow-up, we've fixed this issue and it shouldn't be an issue in the next service release for PrimalScript.

I'd just like to make sure you're aware we've since released the version of PrimalScript with the fix.

If you're still having issues with this, please feel free to let us know so we can get this resolved.

Hi Devin,

I have verified that setting the default template and Don't Ask are working as expected now.

Thanks a lot for everyone's work on this!
