Powershell Help Download

Post by rexter »

I have tried the Powershell Help (Free download) on two different systems running Windows 2003 Server without success. The install goes OK, but when you start the application you can see the app form come up (it is blank), it hangs there a few seconds and quits. Powershell is installed on these systems and works.

Want to verify: PowerShell is the RTM version and you did a standard install.

I've tried on a couple of Win2003 machines, including a standalone and a DC, and it's loading up just fine. FWIW, they're both 32-bit; I don't have Win2003 running on x64 hardware. Now, for XP, I have one x64 box that runs it just fine and a second x64 box running the 32-bit OS which does NOT run PowerShell Help. That's my lab machine and I occassionally run into issues with lots of software (I honestly need to reinstall the OS, I think), so take that for what it's worth.

I fired up a couple Win2003 32-bit VMS and was able to install it fine, also - can you think of anything that might make your machine different in some way?

It's a little tough to troubleshoot wierdess from this end (grin), but a lot of things can kick in - .NET Framework execution policy, SRPs, and so forth... any hints?donj2007-01-16 09:57:23

This crash usually happens in a pre-RC2 environment.
Can you please get us the location and version number of powershell.exe?
