PrimalForms 2009

Post by marco.shaw »

Is there a online comparison listing the different features of the commercial and community products and what each offers? Also, is there a way to easily add the typical menu to the base form? Like the File, Edit, etc. main menu along with the associated drop downs?I seem to remember some videos being posted online on PrimalForms, but a quick search doesn't seem to return any useful results.

You can read this blog (It slices, it dices, and it makes forms!), which explains some of the differences between PrimalForms 2009 and Community edition. Recently PrimalForms 2009's functionality was expanded to allow you to edit existing PowerShell scripts as well.
To add a menu you will have to use a MenuStrip (PrimalForms 2009). There are no presents, so you will have to define your own menu items, but you can expect sample forms to be posted in our blog in the near future.

As for videos, we don't currently have any for PrimalForms. We do have a quick guide for the Community Edition available at http://www.sapien.com/downloads. PrimalForms 2009

...To add a menu you will have to use a MenuStrip (PrimalForms 2009)...So are you saying above the the Community edition doesn't provide full support for adding a MenuStrip?

The MenuStrip was added to PrimalForms 2009 in the last service release. If you use the Community Edition, you will have to add the MenuStrip manually to the script.
