Re: Powershell Studio 2017 SSL

Older versions of the .NET framework use an outdated and no longer used encryption protocol for https. You need to use our external unlock tool found here: https://sapien.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/Support%20files/SAPIEN%20Product%20Unlock.exe Download this and enter your information as your would i...

Re: GUI is painfully slow

What my comment with moving it outside the event handler implied, was to run it outside the event handler. Just moving the code to another function and calling that from the event handler would not change anything. I know James, he was certainly not intent on being condescending. He just states fact...

Re: PSStudio 2021 installation didn't find my PowerShell 7

Yeah. Standard is good.
Keep in mind that when you use SPS to package for a PowerShell 7 version, you can have a corresponding runtime (if needed) which is independent of the installed Posh 7 version.

Re: PSStudio 2021 installation didn't find my PowerShell 7

Hi Max. No, that is definitely not my response. :D It is more like, if you use non-standard folder names, how are we supposed to know where to look? PowerShell 7 64 bit is in C:\Program Files\Powershell\7 PowerShell 7 32 bit is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Powershell\7 Any reason you want to use custom...

Re: GUI is painfully slow

Yes, generally a button press, or any event really, should only kick off a long operation rather than performing it itself. Jobs and jobtracker (https://www.sapien.com/blog/2019/05/01/new-video-handling-progress-with-a-background-job-in-a-gui-application/?highlight=jobtracker) are a good way of doin...

Re: Impersonate problem

Most commonly it is remote credentials specified incorrectly.
Is the user id a local id or a domain/remote id? If the latter, how do you specify it?

Re: GUI is painfully slow

PowerShell is PowerShell, a GUI process is neither significantly faster nor significantly slower than a CLI process. Unless of course you do things differently. Without knowing what exactly it is you are doing, it is hard to tell what is causing a delay. Generally, a GUI can cause a slow down for a ...

Re: Dos Primal Script support JScript.net?

Not in the sense you need. It has some intellisense for it, and you can hook it up to the compiler, but truth be told, it's a .NET language, so you should be using Visual Studio.

Re: Ghost-Process 'msiexec' after installing PowerShell Studio

Unfortunately neither your configuration nor the log file provide any clue. I completely understand how this is frustrating. As the other SAPIEN installers run without issue, specially the PrimalScript installer is very much is similar to the PowerShell Studio installer, I doubt that the issue is re...
