No version since 2.0 would have ever installed correctly without sufficient privileges. You must be a local administrator to install PrimalScript. Because is updates certain system components or at least needs to be able to access them for a version check there is no way around that. I apologize, I was assuming that "manual uninstall" implies the control panel.
None of our tests shows the behavior you describe, seems you always get the lucky draw with installer problems.

Not uncommon when I try to be lazy and use an existing language template.
The first case is because it thinks the backslash construct is a regular expression.
The second is because - is an operator and it doesn't yet know the language has -parameters.
We'll improve it in the next build.

There currently is no way to generically define a new language or type. Is this type close to any language already existing?
