Switch off UAC while doing this.
Re-enable it after you can successfully debug.
That should do the trick.

DebugView log files open as hex

Usually if a file is opened and locked in hex mode it contains NULL characters. If you send a (zipped) file to support@sapien.com I could check if that is indeed the case.

Hmm that's gonna be one for the powershell experts.
My assumption at this point is that this occurs because we run scripts
in their own local code context, whereas in the actual shell you use the global context.
I'll ask Don to jump in here.
