Re: Packaged MSI only copies contained PS1 instead of running it

This particular PS1 doesn't run an exe or installer file. It is a series of command that Disable or Enable WindowsOptionalFeatures. There was a VBS version for an older operating system that used commands that no longer work in Windows 10, so I wrote a powershell version.

Re: Packaged MSI only copies contained PS1 instead of running it

To clarify this is how my work installs things on computers: -Get install files from vendors (exe's, MSI's, licenses, etc) -That gets thrown in a network folder -A script is written (usually VBS or PS1) that runs the installers as well as any other additional things we want it to do -That script is...

Re: Packaged MSI only copies contained PS1 instead of running it

An MSI file is an installer. You use it to deploy software (of any kind) to an end users system. It gets installed and gets an optional shortcut. It is up to the end user to run your script or exe or whatever you are rolling out. "The exe works, but when I try to run it using a zap file, it does no...

Re: Packaged MSI only copies contained PS1 instead of running it

The PS1 file is meaningless since it does not get installed. Are you sure you are using the correct MSI build for the target system? Be sure to sign the file as some systems will not allow unsigned MSI files. As far as settings go, I don't see anything that would be causing an issue. I tried all th...

Packaged MSI only copies contained PS1 instead of running it

I have a powershell script that enables select Remote Administration Tools. The script works when you run it, however I am having some issues when I try to deploy it. One way I tried is packaging it in an exe using PowershellStudio2015 package builder. The exe works, but when I try to run it using a...

Re: Help with GUI

Here is yours as an example: That ended up working well, thank you! As a last piece of refinement, I wanted to include a cancel/abort type button since if a user selects a whole bunch and then wants to cancel them, they would have to kill the form as well as any installers that are currently runnin...

Re: Help with GUI

It doesn't matter. Whatever you need get set in the listbox. Listboxes store objects not strings. We just add everything in $objs+=[pscustomobject]@[Name='Adobe';Installer='c:\installfiles\adobe\setup.msi';Aruments='/qn /ALL' $objs+= ... $objs+= .... ... $listbox.Datasource=[arraylist]$objs $listbo...

Help with GUI

I tried searching but all the examples I found fell just short of answering my questions. I am trying to make a Powershell Form (.psf) that contains a "CheckedListBox". Each item in the CheckedListBox corresponds to a program I want to install. I want to be able to select multiple Boxes and then cli...
