At this time, we do not have a V6 packager engine, but it is on our TODO list. Previously we were unable to create a V6 host (the SDK was not available), but I will ask the dev team to revisit this.

You can use the File->Save As Template... command to create new templates. It will prompt you to save to the correct template location.

Yes, dot sourcing will work. There is also a Get-ScriptDirectory helper function included in the Globals.ps1 file that returns the path of the script or executable. The vendor got back to me. When you set the application to System (Enhanced) it uses GDI Scaling, which is not compatible with applications that use mixed rendering (DirectX and GDI). Interesting. The panel is dependent on DirectX for rendering and I believe there might be a compatibility issue.

Do you have DirectX 11 installed?

We found the issue and it will be resolved in the next service release. In the meantime, adding the extra space will resolve the issue.
