PowerShell Conference Asia 2015

PowerShell Conference Asia (#PSConfAsia) held its inaugural sessions on September 18th and 19th, 2015 at Microsoft headquarters in Singapore. SAPIEN was the platinum sponsor of this event. A great set of sessions was kicked off with a State of the Union talk by Jefferey Snover (Technical Fellow at Microsoft and creator of PowerShell). Ferdinand Rios (CEO of SAPIEN) followed up with a talk on Building PowerShell GUI Solutions, where he demonstrated how to build a GUI PowerShellGet application using PowerShell Studio. SAPIEN Update Tool now manages your download history.

SAPIEN releases frequent updates for all of its products as part of your subscription membership. To make this process easier we recently published our new update tool, which allows you to download and install new builds for your licensed software with little effort. The new update tools also keeps a history of your downloaded and installed updates. By clicking on the “View update history” link you can now access this history. This serves two different purposes. SAPIEN Update service bulletin

Recently we introduced a new SAPIEN software update tool, which makes it easier to directly download and install SAPIEN software updates. The tool also updates itself when there is a newer version of the update tool. Unfortunately on some machines that may have caused that process to get stuck, because the file may now be owned be an elevated admin and can no longer be overwritten without elevation. With the release of the latest versions of the 2015 SAPIEN products we also integrated a new update tool. This new version will check for updates on all licensed and unexpired trial version of our products. It can download and install the updated versions without you going to your accounts page. If you need to roll out updates to multiple machines, you can use the “Download only” button to get the checked updates downloaded to your Windows downloads folder. Easier access to license information

With the next service builds for all SAPIEN software products you will notice a new icon in the upper right corner of the ribbon: Clicking on the new icon will show you a new license dialog that is also available when the software is already activated. The new dialog allows you to unlock the software without restarting and using the trial dialog. It also shows you your license key or subscription number if activated.
