Last week I attended the PowerShell + DevOps Global Summit 2018 in Bellevue, Washington with SAPIEN Technologies Senior Software Engineer David Corrales. This was the first time I attended the event, and I’m glad I did.
The attendance at this years summit tripled, bringing the total attendees to 365. With approximately 49 speakers, this was the biggest event so far.
The amount of quality information and dedicated, enthusiastic speakers made it well worth going. We got something valuable out of every PowerShell session we attended.
Adding to the success of the event was the presence of the Microsoft PowerShell Team, as well as known PowerShell celebrities—Jeffrey Snover (the “Father of PowerShell”), Bruce Payette, and Lee Holmes. They were all accessible and open to interacting with everyone at the summit.
We gained professional and personal benefits from attending the event:
- Increasing knowledge
- Building and strengthening network relationships
- Engaging with a supportive community
- Opportunity for continued skills growth
- Applying what we have learned
And most importantly—increasing personal value in the industry.
I wish to extend many thanks to the organizers for hosting a great event—Don Jones, Richard Siddaway, Jeffery Hicks, and Jason Helmick—as well as all of the contributors and volunteers.
It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to share some knowledge, to be able to speak in front of such an amazing PowerShell crowd and to demonstrate some of the SAPIEN PowerShell Studio product features:
Of course, who can forget the attendees? Awesome people who love PowerShell technology. Thanks to you all!
The 10 minutes Community Lighting Demos afternoon session (CLD) was amazing!
Below is a photo of Richard Stoddard running his script using SAPIEN PowerShell Studio during the afternoon CLD session:
It was a great experience to meet everyone and I’m hoping we can meet again next year!
