Notes from the field – TechEd 2008 IT Professionals – Day 1

Well it’s the first day of TechEd IT Professionals and you can feel the electricity in the air. This is a great show to be at. Lots of people, lots of sessions, lots of excitement. The SAPIEN booth has a GREAT placement, right on an endcap with full frontal exposure to a major aisle.

Today’s exhibit hours are divided into a morning session from 10:00-1:30 and an evening event from 6pm-9pm. Having survived the morning session, I am writing during the break. This morning was a whirlwind of activity. The booth has been incredibly busy with lots of interest about PrimalScript and the rest of the product line. PowerShell is on a lot of people’s minds and we are well situated to offer everyone great software, training and books in this regard.

One great advantage of being at the show is finally putting some faces to the voices and names I have been working with recently. Thanks to Hal Rottenberg and Greg Shields for taking some time to talk with me today.

There are a number of interesting products on the show floor. I will try to check them out over the next few days and report back on this blog.

And speaking about electricity in the air…the sky has just broken open with a tremendous thunderstorm. The palm trees are swaying in the wind, lightning is flashing across the sky and the thunder is so loud it makes my room shake.

Welcome to Florida!
